Patch Digitizing
Digitized for the Patch, Not Just the Garment
Patch digitizing is different from standard garment digitizing. Patches are sewn on a separate twill or felt backing, then applied to the garment. The file needs tight borders, correct density for the backing material, and clean edge coverage.
We digitize files specifically optimized for patch production — whether you're sending them to a patch manufacturer or sewing them in-house on a multi-head machine.
- Twill and felt backing optimization
- Tight border coverage
- Merrow border compatible
- Clean edge for die-cut patches

Yes — patches are sewn on a separate backing material (twill, felt, or canvas) rather than directly on a garment. The file needs different density settings, tighter edge coverage, and is often designed to work with a merrow border machine for the finished edge.

We optimize for twill (most common), felt, canvas, and leather. Each material has different density requirements. Tell us your backing material when ordering and we'll set the file parameters accordingly.
